Holland College scholarship applications are now available in Student Services and on the College website at www.hollandcollege.com//alumni_and_foundation/awards.php. There are several awards available. Some are specific to particular programs:
Five ATV Media Scholarships Valued at $500.00 for Journalism or Graphic Design,
Bottler Award for Environmental Applied Science Technology,
Wright Family Scholarship for Carpentry, Plumbing or Electrical Technology
Jamie Bone Memorial Award valued at $500.00 for Commercial Diving,
David Harding Leadership Award valued at $500.00 for Culinary Arts or Pastry Arts.
Greg French Memorial Award valued at approximately $500.00 for Culinary Arts. John Ledwell Memorial Award valued at $1000.00 fo Culinary Arts, Pastry Arts, & Applied Degree in Culinary Operations.
Vector Aerospace’s Danny Landry Memorial Scholarship valued at $2000.00for Aircraft Gas Turbine Engine Repair & Overhaul.
Team Cormorant Scholarships 2 scholarships valued at (approx) $1000.00. Recipients must be accepted fulltime in the Aircraft Gas Turbine Engine Repair and Overhaul Program.
Four to five awards are for students registered in the ASAP Program
Some awards are for students with a disability
The following 14 awards are for any program:
-David and Nancy Lopes Family Entrance Award in the form of tuition credit. Selection based on financial need , academic performance, community and/or volunteer service in that order.
- Connolly Financial Group Lock Llewellyn Memorial Scholarship valued at $500.00 for leadership in academics and athletics
- Holland College President’s Award of Excellence valued at full tuition : Selection criteria include a minimum of 80% average and leadership in athletics, school, work, and/or community. Two reference letters and a personal essay are required.
- Samuel Holland Entrance Scholarship valued at $3000.00:
Selection criteria include a minimum of 70% average in Grade 12 courses. One teacher reference letter is required.
- Town of Souris Scholarship valued at $500.00: Applicants must be graduating from SRHS, have an average of at least 75%, aptitude for the Holland College program, and community and/or volunteer involvement. Return this application to SRHS Student Services.
- The Wanda Wyatt Scholarships valued at first year tuition: Selection criteria include high academics and an aptitude for or interest in the cultural or artistic dimension of life. Two reference letters and a personal statement are required.
- Harrison McCain Bursaries valued at $1000.00 Financial need is a primary consideration.
-Doris Priscilla Muncey Haslam Award valued at $500.00. Recipient must be accepted into a full-time program at Holland College. Selection criteria include ( in order of importance) academic standing,community involvement and financial need.
- Ten Holland College Community Leadership awards valued at $1000.00. In a biography, recipients must demonstrate that they are leaders in their school and/or community through extra curricular activities, community involvement and volunteer activities. Recipients must exhibit a high aptitude in their chosen area of study.
-Partners in Value Student Awards 8-10 awards of $1000.00 . Selection based on financial need and academic performance.
-Samuel Holland Entrance Awards 10 awards valued at (approx) $1000.00. Students must be in good academic standing . Involvement in community programs ,activities or services will be taken into consideration, financial need of the applicant is a consideration but not the primary one.
-The Holland College Foundation Personal Insurance Company Entrance Award -3 awards of $2500.00 each. Students must be accepted into a fulltime program at Holland College.
Cooke Insurance Football Awards valued at a minimum of $250. Applicant must be interested in playing football with the Holland Hurricanes.
Velvet Underground Football Award valued at $1000.00. Applicant must have leadership qualities and interested in playing football with the Holland Hurricanes.
